With proper maintenance, thermoplastic valves can last a lifetime
Under normal conditions, most Plast-O-Matic parts and elastomers last over a million cycles; in some cases many millions of cycles. But all materials will wear out eventually...especially when high purity or corrosive liquids are involved.
From time to time, wear and tear will require that a valve be replaced. But in the majority of applications, parts can be ordered and replaced quickly and easily in the field. This includes seals, hardware, springs, pistons, o-rings, coils, valve bodies, diaphragms and much more.
In some cases, such as PTFE-bellows solenoid valves, precise tolerances won't permit replacement of individual parts in the field...pre-assembled replacement cartridges are offered instead. And in a few specialty items, designs are not suitable to be serviced, so we require the valve be returned to the factory to be rebuilt. Otherwise, seal kits and parts can be ordered for virtually every True Blue valve. You should have a preventive maintenance schedule in place for every valve on premises...and be sure to order back up seal kits before you need them!
