Our valves are found in high purity and corrosive process piping systems that ensure safe water, healthy food and beverages, and many other liquid processes that impact daily life. We also control system flow and pressure in countless hospitals and pharmaceutical plants worldwide.
In accordance with New Jersey Governor Murphy’s Executive Order #104 and further orders #107 and #108, and under guidance from the New Jersey Manufacturers Extension Program, manufacturers can remain in operation as long as they follow the CDC guidelines for sanitation, hand washing and minimum 6 ft of personal space. Our team in Riverside, California is presently following the same directives in accordance with the Riverside County Department of Public Health.
We are taking steps to limit the unnecessary movement of individuals in and around their communities and person-to-person interactions in accordance with CDC and DOH guidance, working reduced shifts and telecommuting as able.
The landscape is changing rapidly, and we will certainly comply with orders and directives as they change.
Product Safety
At Plast-O-Matic we are fortunate that about 90% of the products and components we provide are manufactured (injection molded or machined) from raw resin at our facility in Cedar Grove, New Jersey. This gives us complete control over handling and cleaning, and enables us to trace any human contact with both parts and finished products. Each component is cleaned prior to assembly. MEK and/or isopropyl alcohol are used throughout our assembly process, except in rare cases where forbidden by end user specification. With the exception of ultrapure products, electrical components, actuators, and ball valves, complete products are cleaned again and rinsed as part of our testing procedures. Electrical components, actuators, and ball valves are hand cleaned prior to final testing and packaging. Ultrapure products are either cleaned or receive a contracted Class 100 cleanroom procedure, including hot DI rinse.
Imported Product/Component Quarantine
With over 50 years of manufacturing high performance valves for everything from corrosive environments to medical research labs, we are hyper aware of the possibility of product contamination. The tested lifespan of corona virus on plastic surfaces is a maximum of three days. Since the advent of the virus in 2019, imported products such as electric actuators have been subject to a 14 day quarantine, and then wiped with anti-bacterial cloth.
Returned Product Quarantine
- All products returned to Plast-O-Matic require completion of a comprehensive safety information form.
- OSHA requires that an MSDS be provided for all chemicals processed through the returned item.
- Complete diagnostic information must be provided or the return will be rejected.
- All forms must be isolated from contamination.
- Technicians wear appropriate protective gear.
Plant Safety
Our production facilities in Cedar Grove and Riverside are cleaned and sanitized constantly during the work day. Employee common areas are cleaned regularly. Employees are sensitive to the importance of cleanliness and the safety of each other, of our distributors, customers, and anyone else that will be in contact with our products.
